If you are feeling the bye week pinch this week, you’re not alone. Six NFL teams get their annual week off this week, causing fantasy owners all over the country to scramble to fill the holes left by usual starters.
As always, Know It All Football is here with free advice to help ease your pain. This week we have a tight end, two receivers, and running back and a defense for you to target in hopes of making up those otherwise lost points.
Let’s get to it!
Jordan Reed, TE, Redskins – Reed has six or more targets in four of the five games he’s played in this season. Last week was his surprise coming out party, but don’t be afraid of a letdown. RGIII is beginning to understand the importance of the tight end position in today’s NFL. Reed will continue to get looks and should have a decent game against Denver’s defense in what has the makings of a shootout.
Andre Ellington, RB, Cardinals – The Cardinals, for some reason, went away from Ellington and turned in arguably their worst performance of the season. Look for the dynamic back to bounce back this week as a more integral part of Arizona’s gameplan against a less-than-impressive Atlanta defense.
Jarrett Boykin, WR, Packers – We were on the Boykin train last week and we aren’t getting off. With the horrible injury to Jermichael Finley, Aaron Rodgers’ options continue to dwindle. At this point, Boykin and Jordy Nelson are really all he’s got. Look for another solid day for the second year man from Virginia Tech.
Detroit Lions D/ST – One would think the matchup with Dallas would be a high scoring shootout, but I’m guessing that won’t be the case. The Cowboys can’t run the ball right now, menaing the Lions’ front seven can pin back their ears and go after Tony Romo. I see Romo losing a fumble or two and tossing at least one ill-advised pass that turns into a pick – possibly a pick six. If you are in a pinch on defense, roll the dice with Detroit this week.
Kenny Stills, WR, Saints – The Saints are home against the Bills who are terrible against the pass. This will be another one of those Drew Brees passing clinics with plenty of balls to go around. Stills is emerging at the favorite deep target in the Big Easy and I’m guessing he hauls in at least one long score on Sunday – which may be all the points you need.
