The defending Serie A champions, Juventus have turned down a chance to seal signatures from the United midfielder.
Goal suggests that the Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini has rejected a contract renewal offer from his current club, Manchester United.
The 29-year-old is heading towards the final year of his contract with an option to sign for another club in January. Reports in England are suggesting that the midfielder will likely depart in the summer.
Since his big money move from Everton, the Afro-man hasn’t quite lived up to the hype in the Red. However, things seem to turn around this season. Fellaini has played a crucial role so far under Jose Mourinho in 2017-18 with four goals from nine appearances in all competitions.
Juventus are one of the clubs that interest him, but the tabloid’s Italian sources believe Juventus will continue their midfielder hunt elsewhere.
The Old Lady signed PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi in the summer and already have the likes of Claudio Marchisio, Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanic within their ranks.
Nevertheless, the midfield has depleted over the years – with the likes of Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal leaving the club.
Juventus have dominated the Serie A in the last few seasons, but the competition looks tighter every year. With massive investments in the two Milan clubs, Juventus will look to spend their money wisely and identify right players.
The onus now within the Juventus ranks is to add youth to their aging side.
Subsequently, their primary focus lies in the expiring contracts of two young German stars, Emre Can and Leon Goretzka.
The German midfielders are both young and technically sound – Can (23) and Goretzka (22). Moreover, it’s their experience at the top level at this age that seemingly attracts the Juventus board.
