The shot-stopper has played well for the Blues over the course of three years, winning two Premier League titles and a League Cup. Similarly, solid performances for Belgium has further solidified his stance as one of the best.
However, there are a plenty of competition to single out his name as the best, with the likes of David de Gea and Manuel Neuer in contention. But, in Courtois’ mind, he has no doubts he is the best when it comes to protecting the goal.
“Yeah, I think obviously I feel like that, you have to have the self-belief that you are the best, that’s important to have that mind-set.” he said to Sky Sports.
Thibaut Courtois won Premier League Golden Gloves last season, while this season, he has continued his authority between the posts with six clean-sheets.
“Obviously there are other great goalkeepers, so it’s not for me to judge who is the best, but obviously I feel the best because that has to be your mind-set.”, he continued.
“I think every great player in the world, and every great goalkeeper in the world will have that mind-set, and it should be like that. I try to work every day very hard to become better and better.”
